dox42 represents an enormous enrichment for our company

DFMG Deutsche Funkturm GmbH plays a key role in providing infrastructure for the expansion of German mobile communications providers, broadcasting operators, operators of microwave links and for the radio networks of public authorities and other institutions. The company was founded in 2002 and operates a portfolio of around 33,400 radio sites. Its portfolio includes towers, masts, rooftop sites, distributed antenna systems (DAS) and small cells.

Along our business processes, we have many interfaces with third-party companies where data or documents are exchanged. In addition to compiling conventional data, there is an increasing need to integrate geodata and information resulting from geospatial analyses in an appealing way and make them available to our service providers.

As part of our digitization offensive, we have been looking for a comprehensive solution for the automated creation of documents. Apart from some mostly HTML-based tools, dox42 has become our focus solution because it has the potential to close the existing technology gap due to its intuitive handling and many different interfaces.

New document templates with appealing formatting can be easily created with dox42. Furthermore, we have the possibility to connect numerous data sources and to use their data according to our needs.

At Deutsche Funkturm, all three access options offered by dox42 are used:

  • dox42 Office add-ins for the creation of new templates and as a replacement for the Word mail merge function
  • the REST interface of the dox42 server for automated document creation and
  • the self-service for employees via the web interface dox42LIVE

Recurring documents, previously laboriously created manually by us, will now be gradually implemented with dox42, guaranteeing a consistent quality of results. We thus ensure a uniform CI/CD as well as consistency in content.

In addition to "standard documents" such as contracts and cover letters, we have also created special templates for directional radio planning reports. Here the departments can request special reports after entering a few master data, which are provided to our customers ad hoc and in high quality. When created by dox42, own planning services are called via a REST interface, which immediately perform the planning and return the results.

dox42 meanwhile represents an enormous enrichment for our company. Within Deutsche Funkturm there is already a loyal user base, which will surely grow further with the license extension to dox42 Enterprise. We assume that the extended functionalities will soon enable us to implement further use cases.
